The SSO Chorus

The Stow Symphpony Orchestra Chorus was founded in the fall of 1998 as the Stow Chamber Orchestra Chorus following the founding of the Stow Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Stow Chamber Orchestra). The Chorus presented a performance of Handel's Messiah with the Stow Chamber Orchestra in December of that year. Several Messiah performances have followed over the course of the group's existence including its most recent performance in December of 2007. The Symphony Chorus regularly performs during the Christmas Holiday concerts of the Stow Symphony. Other performances include the Chorus' first Chorus-only concert in March of 2005 under the direction of Ted Shure who lead the group for one season.

In the spring of 2006 the SSOC together with the orchestra, performed an all-Mozart program under the direction of Founding (and current) Director, Darrell Lee Music to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth. Works inclued a stirring rendition of Ave Verum, and selections from Requiem.

The chorus is regularly featured with the orchestra in holdiday performances.
